Do I need to be a serious athlete to do CrossFit?

One of the best things about CrossFit is that every program is scalable to each individual’s fitness level, so whether you’re a serious athlete or working out for the first time, CrossFit 406 is for you.

What results can I expect?

You can expect to get in the best shape of your life with CrossFit 406. CrossFit is not a weight loss program, although weight loss is a benefit for many people. CrossFit is about working hard and getting fit; you will get out what you put in. The movements are functional, so you will gain strength and agility that will allow you to feel better while performing the activities of every day life. Results are not guaranteed, they are earned.

I’m too old/too young!

You are never too old OR too young to start CrossFit! If you think you’re too old, come on in and talk to us. We can address your concerns and help you realize that you’re never too old to slow down your aging process.

I did CrossFit once. The workouts were too short and I didn’t feel like I got a workout.

CrossFit is counter-intuitive. Our workouts are short but very intense, and they work. All the magic happens with the intensity, but it takes practice to be able to push yourself that much. Come on in, talk to a coach about your concerns.

Do I have to get in shape first before I start working out at CrossFit 406?

This is a common misconception. The most elite athlete can come into the gym and find a workout challenging. You will never be “fit” enough. That’s why we are here and offer scaling options for each individual so that you can thrive in each workout on a personal level. Fitness is a lifelong journey, we are never really “there”.

Can I come work out anytime I want?

We have classes scheduled throughout the day for you to attend. The difference between CrossFit and your average gym is that everyday you come to CrossFit 406, your coach will have a very structured, personalized class planned (warm-up, work out, cool down). Personal training is a built-in benefit of your membership. We program our workouts for each day. Because community is important to CrossFit, each work out is done in a class.

I’ve heard CrossFit is expensive. Is this true?

CrossFit is serious about results, and results come from personal attention from coaches who are trained in CrossFit methods and movements. Because of this, the prices reflect the personal training and community involved in your membership.

Do you sell or recommend any supplements at your gym?

We proudly offer Stronger Faster Healthier‘s line of protein and fish oil to our members. We strongly believe in their mission of “applying science and clinical testing to the design of natural products that benefit wellness and fitness.” Their products are not designed to be stand-alone nutrition, but a way to supplement a clean, healthy diet.
